A thermodynamic approach to the stabilization of tubular reactors

This paper deals with the stabilization of a non isothermal tubular reactor in which convection, diffusion and chemical reaction occur. The is modelled by set non-linear partial differential equations distributed jacket temperature used as control input. Two stabilizing laws are derived using thermodynamic availability function Lyapunov function. It shown how closed loop performances, terms settling time input amplitude can be improved modifying Simulation results show effectiveness proposed state feedback controls.
